Polygon Portrait

Artist Reflection
I think that the strongest part of my visual piece is the coloring I chose once converting it to photo shop because I like the way that the orange on the left contrasts with the dark tones of the picture on the right. The shapes on the image could be improved so that every part of the image has triangles and not just the face. I could fix it by adding more shapes to the bottom of the image as well as the hair. To create the image I used the pen tool as well as the eyedropper in Illustrator, then used photo shop to add the colors. I used the pen tool to trace the picture and also used it to create the shapes within the image. I used the eyedropper to add the correct color within each shape. Photo shop was then used to add the colors. During the art activity it was easy to trace he original image because I only had to outline the head, hair and eyes. It was difficult to create the nose without making it look unnatural. I was able to demonstrate the use of stroke and fill by outlining the outside of the image then filling each shape with the right color. If I could do the project again I would choose a different picture and take more time on each shape rather than the overall image. On a scale I would rate my effort at a 10. Although it didn't come out as good as I would have wanted, I did put effort into trying to make it the best I could.
